4.    Pick Healthy Snacks

Forget the sugary beverages and go for low-fat milk or even water. Buy low-fat yogurt if you need a filling snack. Avoid junk food and opt for the in-season fruit during the day. Grab a small handful of unsalted nuts as they have healthy fats. You can add some dried fruit if you want extra flavor.

Risk Factors Involved in Being Overweight

Obesity is not an external or superficial problem. It should not. Being overweight or obese causes many health-related issues especially for adults. Here are some of the risk factors involved in being overweight.

Coronary Heart Disease

Obese and overweight people are also likely to suffer from gallstones, osteoarthritis, and sleep apnea. There are also more likely to get breast, colon, endometrial, and gallbladder cancers. Obese women can suffer from infertility or have menstrual issues as a result of their weight.

Overweight and obesity can cause many long-term and short-term health complications. It is, therefore, important to manage your weight to avoid these conditions. Ensure that your body mass index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 24.9 as a BMI of over 25 is associated with being overweight and obese if it is over 30. Ensure that your waist size is also below 35 inches if you are a woman or less than 40 if you are a man.
