Welcome to Employer Disability Resource Network
According to the U.S. Census Bureau (2000) only 56% of people with disabilities that are of working age are employed, as compared to 74% of the general population.
The Employer Disability Resource Network (EDRN) is on a mission to provide businesses and industries throughout Iowa, with top-level support, information and resources through this web portal.
Persons with disabilities are the fastest growing segment of the population and they are comprised of people from all races, ages and economic backgrounds. This population segment is also the single largest minority group seeking employment in today’s market. We believe that this underutilized talent pool of Iowans can be a valuable resource to the Iowa economy.
About Us
EDRN is a collaborative group of state, federal and private partners working together to identify, develop and mobilize resources, supports and services that add value to Iowa businesses hiring persons with disabilities.
Objectives:
- Provide Iowa employers access to qualified applicants.
- Enhance the available labor market by combining on-the-job training, internships and classroom experiences for high-demand occupations.
- Be a resource for up-to-date information about disability employment issues for the business community.
